At Bright Beginnings Learning Center in Salem, Oregon, we believe in providing a nurturing environment where children thrive through play-based learning. Our daily schedule is thoughtfully designed to engage the whole child—mind, body, and heart—with a culturally responsive curriculum, enrichment programs, and flexible care options to support both children and families.
A Typical Day
☀️ 7:30 AM – Welcome & Morning Exploration: Children arrive, settle in, and engage in quiet activities like puzzles, books, or sensory play as they transition into their day.
🍎 8:00 AM – Breakfast & Community Time: We start the day with a nutritious, USDA-approved breakfast, followed by a morning circle where we sing songs, discuss the day’s activities, and set a positive tone.
🎨 9:00 AM – Montessori-Inspired Learning & Enrichment: Children explore hands-on learning stations that include STEM, creative arts, dramatic play, sensory bins, and language activities. Our bilingual (English & Spanish) approach is woven into everyday learning.
🌳 10:30 AM – Outdoor Play & Gross Motor Activities: We head outside for free play, nature exploration, and group games that help develop coordination and teamwork.
🥪 11:30 AM – Lunch & Rest Time: Children enjoy a healthy, balanced lunch before winding down with a quiet story, calming music, or a nap/rest period.
🍎 3:00 PM – Afternoon Snack & Reflection Time: A nutritious snack is served as children refuel for the rest of the day. We take time to reflect on the day’s experiences, sharing our favorite moments.
📖 3:30 PM – Afternoon Learning & Group Activities: After snack time, we dive into engaging activities like music, movement, storytelling, or problem-solving games. Older children may have structured Pre-K readiness lessons.
🛝 4:30 PM – Outdoor Play & Exploration: Another chance to get outside and enjoy fresh air, movement, and social play with friends.
🧩 5:00 PM – Free Choice & Goodbye Circle: Children engage in free play, puzzles, or group activities while waiting for pickup. We close our day with a goodbye circle, reinforcing social-emotional skills and preparing for a smooth transition home.
Extended Care Available: For families needing additional care, we offer before-care starting as early as 6:30 AM and after-care extending until 7:00 PM. Our extended care includes structured activities, free play, and enrichment opportunities in a safe and supportive environment.
